It was a great year for sloping.
Some sunbatics with the Aeromod Voltij, a classic fully moulded slope aerobat.
Some precision aerobatics with my voltij.
Flying my voltij at Rhossili on a warm summers evening.
Truly Fantastic scenery and Slope Heaven.
Heres the first 4 minutes of the flight.
Some fantastic conditions for the voltij at Rhossili
The volitj was flown a little later in the day when the wind was a nice 20-25mph. Practising some precision aeros (bearing in mind this is only its second flight), it is equally as aerobatic as the acrostar, but lacks the hooning and straight line speed of the acrostar. A superb flyer and a worthy complement to the Acrostar.
Got a good day on edge hill, and the Voltij was maidened. Wind was 20mph, gusting 25, just one other out so had the slope to myself.
After checking over, she was chucked, a bit of flying on the elevator required until the required notches of up trim required.
She flew like she was on rails. Stunning energy retention. Sensational, and in a different league to the Psycho. Did every trick in the book, and that was before i moved her onto high rates. Had an hour before rain looked ominous and so oh and those brakes, they dont work, no one warned me about that. Landed OK in the end/no damage.
Im gonna like this, and cant wait to get her to a big hill with a big LDZ, as she really eats up the sky.
Heres the video, of the first 2 minutes of the flight.
